How this works, and why it exists

Courses get cancelled and postponed. When that happens the trainer’s day is already committed and we would rather deliver training than write the day off, so we release it at a price we could not offer as a standard booking.

There is no catch and nothing is reduced. It is the same six-hour Level 2 qualification, the same assessment, the same certificate and the same trainer. What you are buying is our scheduling problem.

The trade-off is timing and flexibility. Slots appear at short notice, there is usually only one, and the date is the date. If you have twelve people who could be freed up at a few days’ notice, this is the cheapest way to train them. If you need a specific week, book the standard group course instead.

What you need in place

• A venue. Your own premises, or somewhere you have booked. A room that seats everyone is enough
• Up to 12 people. The price covers the course rather than the head, so a full room is the point. More than 12 can be added at additional cost
• Availability on the date shown. These are not movable

What the course itself covers

The full syllabus, the assessment detail and where Level 2 sits against Levels 1 and 3 are on the Level 2 Health and Safety page. In short: employer and employee duties, hazards and risks and the main causes of harm, welfare provision, safe systems of work, controls for both safety and occupational health risks, and how individual behaviour changes the odds.

Six hours, a 30-question paper with a pass mark of 20, and a certificate valid for three years. A full colour workbook for every learner.

Checking availability

Look at the date selector above. If a date is listed, the slot is live and you can book it. If nothing is showing, there is no availability at the moment.

It also helps us to know there is a group ready, because that is often what decides whether we release a cancellation as a sale slot at all.

Your certificate

Identical to the standard course: valid three years, with the awarding organisation named on it. Ask us which body issues it if you want to check before booking, and see how to check a qualification is accredited.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a reduced version of the course?

No. Same six hours, same syllabus, same assessment, same certificate, same trainer. The only difference is that we are filling a cancellation rather than scheduling from scratch.

Why is there no date showing?

Because there is no slot available at the moment. These come from cancellations, so they appear at short notice and irregularly. Tell us you are interested and we will let you know when one comes up.

How many people does the price cover?

Up to 12 at your venue. More can be added at additional cost, so tell us your numbers when you book.

What is included?

The trainer, the books, the examinations and the certificates. You provide the venue and the people.

Can we move the date?

No. The whole reason the price works is that the trainer’s day is already committed. If you need to choose your own date, the standard group course is the right option.

What if we only have eight people?

You can still take the slot, but the price is for the course rather than per person, so you would be paying the same as a full room. It is worth finding four more who are due a refresher.

Do you travel to us?

Yes, within Greater Manchester and the North West. If you are further afield, ask before booking a short-notice slot.
